Residency and Filing Requirements for Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania has particular residency requirements for filing a divorce action. The residency requirements
must be met when the case is filed. If you don't meet the requirements, the court will lack jurisdiction over the case and
will not accept it or will dismiss it.

Grounds for Divorce for Pennsylvania
You must state the grounds for your Pennsylvania divorce in either the petition or complaint, which is the
first divorce form filed with the court. In Pennsylvania, the appropriate grounds for a divorce are the
grounds the filing party believes it can prove in a court hearing or grounds that both parties can agree on and can
establish in court.
